    Selective pallet rack storage system

Pallet Racks in North Little Rock, AR

North Little Rock requires two different rack conversations. The Galloway district is adding bulk distribution and multitenant tilt-wall space, while East Broadway contains industrial buildings tied to production and rail movements. We plan selective pallet rack and pick modules around the inventory and working dimensions of the particular building, not a citywide assumption about height. An operation handling many product lines needs access to individual pallets; a bulk operation also needs replenishment paths that do not cut through its picking work.

Start with the Galloway receiving pattern

Central Commerce Center at 9401 Diamond Drive is a multitenant tilt-wall industrial park built in 2022 with dock-high loading and interstate frontage. It reached full occupancy in 2026. Those facts point to separate tenant operations sharing a larger industrial setting, not identical storage requirements. For a tenant layout, establish the space actually under its control, the dock doors it can use and the areas reserved for receiving. Selective rack can then divide reserve pallets from the working pick faces without treating every available bay as storage.

The 1.2 million square foot bulk distribution warehouse that opened in the east North Little Rock tulip farm area in 2023 represents a different scale. Pick modules and reserve rows should be considered together. A long row of pallet positions may look attractive on paper but create repeated crossings when replenishment trucks work beside order picking. We ask how orders leave the building and where inbound pallets wait before selecting the row direction.

Beam levels follow the actual load

For Galloway and I-440 distribution buildings, clear height is only the starting measurement. Loaded pallet height, lifting clearance and the truck's usable reach establish the storage levels. Beam capacity must match the combined loads carried at that level, while upright capacity depends on the finished configuration. Supply the heaviest anticipated pallet rather than an average from the inventory report. A layout needs to work when the heavier load arrives, not merely during a typical shift.

New truck-equipment facilities are going up at Industrial Drive and I-440. That corridor sits beside the city's I-40 and I-30 connections, with I-440 on the east side. Receiving and dispatch can place different demands on rack ends and cross aisles. We keep those movements visible in the drawing and discuss any parts-picking area separately from full-pallet storage. This prevents a convenient location for reserve stock from becoming an awkward location for daily picking.

East Broadway needs its own working drawing

East Broadway includes food-safety chemical blending and a 55,000 square foot packaging and warehouse expansion. Arkansas River access and rail service occur in multiple parts of North Little Rock. For an older industrial operation, production transfers and the position of rail-related loading may matter more than a uniform aisle pattern. Identify the material arriving, its packaged dimensions and the route to the production area before placing warehouse racking.

Installation planning also belongs in this discussion. Hot, humid summers can affect crew staging in non-air-conditioned space, and spring severe weather or winter ice can interrupt the working sequence. Agree on usable staging areas and receiving windows before work begins. If a business is moving between East Broadway and the Galloway area, the destination layout should be settled first so rack placement follows the new operation rather than the old address.
