# Selective Pallet Rack in Little Rock, AR

When the warehouse needs to reach any pallet without moving another first, selective rack is the practical starting point. We plan new frames and beams around the largest loads and the truck that handles them.

## General distribution: keep every pallet reachable

Little Rock's retail and consumer-goods distribution can involve many products with different reserve quantities. Selective positions let those loads remain individually accessible. At South Port Commerce Center, Port 440 and North Little Rock's Galloway district, compare the active pick areas with reserve rows before assigning the entire building to one pattern. A row useful for reserve storage may not be the best position for daily replenishment.

The receiving buffer belongs on the drawing from the beginning. Show where inbound pallets wait and how they move into storage. Keep loaded turns at row ends workable with the actual forklift model. A position should not be counted as independently accessible if another staging batch has to be moved before it can be serviced.

## Height and capacity in two very different building stocks

Newer Port and Galloway bulk buildings can have 32–40 foot clearance, while older warehouses along East Broadway and Scott Hamilton Drive can be in the 15–28 foot range. Measure the usable height for the proposed storage zone. Loaded pallet height, placement clearance and the truck's working reach determine the level arrangement; the building's advertised height alone does not.

Beam length and frame depth follow the pallet footprint and support requirements. Capacity checks need the heaviest anticipated load at each level and the finished upright configuration. Supply maximum weights, not just inventory averages. If tall and shorter loads are mixed, the beam schedule may need distinct zones rather than identical elevations across every row.

## Make installation and relocation follow the layout

Hot, humid summer conditions in non-air-conditioned space affect staging and crew planning. We coordinate areas released for installation and the receiving routes that remain active. Spring severe weather or winter ice can interrupt that sequence. Rack is anchored to the floor, with placement following the agreed row and aisle drawing.

For a move from southwest Little Rock into a Port or Galloway building, recheck the destination columns, doors and handling paths before assigning pallets. Selective rack should support the new operation rather than reproduce an old aisle pattern. Reserve stock, hand picking and dispatch each need an identified place in the relocation plan.
